Services Overview

Overview

Poinciana Rehabilitation Centre (PRC) provides structured, recovery-oriented mental health services for adults in the Cayman Islands. Our services combine psychiatric care, psychological therapy, medical monitoring, social work support, and rehabilitative programming within a safe and therapeutic residential setting. Each resident receives an individualized care plan designed to promote stability, functional improvement, and long-term independence.
Our approach is multidisciplinary, person-centred, and evidence-based. We focus on restoring dignity, strengthening daily living skills, and preparing residents for successful reintegration into their families and communities. Clinical treatment is delivered alongside structured programmes that build confidence, practical skills, emotional regulation, and social connection.\

Our Programme

At Poinciana Rehabilitation Centre, residents follow a structured daily routine designed to promote stability, therapeutic engagement, and purposeful living. Our programme balances clinical care with skill-building and rehabilitative activities within a safe and supportive environment.

Morning: Clinical Care & Structured Beginnings

Each day begins with personal care routines, breakfast, and medication administration under nursing supervision.

Scheduled clinical appointments typically take place during the morning hours and may include:

  • Psychiatric reviews
  • Doctor consultations
  • Social work sessions
  • Nursing assessments
  • Hospital or specialist visits (when required)

This structured start ensures that residents receive consistent clinical monitoring and individualized care.

Mid-Morning & Afternoon: Therapeutic & Rehabilitative Activities

The remainder of the day is dedicated to structured therapeutic and rehabilitation programming.
Residents may participate in:

  • Group therapy and psychoeducational sessions
  • Occupational therapy activities
  • Life skills development sessions
  • Vocational-focused tasks
  • Creative programmes such as craft, bead work, tie and dye, and sewing

Outdoor activities form an important part of the programme and may include supervised walks, recreational activities, and, when clinically appropriate, community outings or shopping trips. These experiences support confidence-building and real-world skill development.

Evening: Reflection & Routine

Evenings focus on relaxation, reflection, and preparation for rest. This period reinforces consistency, promotes emotional regulation, and helps maintain a healthy daily rhythm.

Supporting Recovery Through Structure

This balanced combination of clinical care, structured programming, creative engagement, and community integration supports recovery while fostering independence and responsibility.
