Poinciana Rehabilitation Centre, located in East End, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands is a tertiary care, residential mental health facility under the Ministry of Health, Environment and Sustainability. It was established for residents in the Cayman Islands that have serious and persistent mental illness to be cared for holistically in a safe and secure environment reflecting a therapeutic approach to care. The services form a part of the continuum of mental health care in the Cayman Islands. The main goals are to repatriate patients who are in long-stay facilities overseas, provide rehabilitation services, and to reintegrate residents with families and communities. The premises consist of three main buildings (administration, activity centre, cafeteria) and nine cottages, clustered in three groups of threes, that have the capacity to accommodate 54 residents. Each cottage consists of six single resident bedrooms with an ensuite bathroom, a shared living room, patio, laundry room and garden. There is also a Nurse’s Station located in each cottage.
